Steph Curry’s faith is not a secret.
It was a magical year for Golden State Warrior’s guard Stephen Curry. He won MVP of the league and also won a NBA championship! One of the things that I liked most about Steph Curry was his eargerness to share his faith. Steph Curry’s faith in God is very obvious. At every chance, he looks to share his faith in God with all who will listen. When he won the MVP, his first words were to God:
“First and foremost I have to thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for blessing me with the talents to play this game, with the family to support me, day in, day out. I’m his humble servant right now and I can’t say enough how important my faith is to who I am and how I play the game. ” – Stephen Curry
The thing about sharing your faith and standing up for God is that it can happen in a moment’s notice. One minute you may be talking about sports, and then all of a sudden, someone may say, “Curry is a good basketball player but God isn’t real. You don’t believe in God, do you?” And just like that, you’re on the spot. What would you say? In the Bible, Peter found himself in the similar position, but unfortunately, he chose not to stand up for Him.
To avoid situations like that, learn from Steph Curry’s faith: Keep God consistently in your thoughts and hearts. That way, when someone asks you about what you believe, thoughts of God’s love will be on the tip of your tongue. Today, practice how you’ll share your faith.
