Leonard Fournette helps an LSU student.
Current NFL running back for the Jacksonville Jaguars, and former LSU running back Leonard Fournette is passionate about football, LSU, and giving back. Last year he donated 700 childhood trophies and recycled them as free weights for a Jacksonville high school. This year, the second-year running back offered to help cover the tuition of LSU fifth-year senior, Jhane Lowsoo.
On Jhane’s GoFundMe page, she states that she works two jobs, which helps cover about $5,000 worth of college tuition. But needs help with the other half.
“I am raising money to fund my senior year of college…I have tried to apply for several loans but have gotten turned down for every single one. This means that I will have to pay for my tuition out of pocket. I am really in need and would appreciate any donation that is given. $1, $5…. anything helps! I’ve worked too hard & I’ve come [too] far to stop now!
Thank you to everyone in advance!”
Leonard saw the tweet, responded to Jhane, and retweeted her. It was a wonderful gesture from Leonard to pay the money and also raise awareness by retweeting.
When we give, it changes the lives of others, and can bring blessings back to us. Because of Leonard’s giving spirit, Jhane will be able to graduate from college. Giving allows us to store up treasures in Heaven rather than here on earth.
God is always faithful. He knew this situation and used Leonard in Jhane’s life to aid her. Philippians 4:19 reads “And my God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” Just another reminder of why we should always trust God as our supplier; God has promised us that he will supply our needs.
