This Thanksgiving, I can think of at least 300 people who have something to be thankful for.Kansas City Chiefs linebacker James-Michael Johnson heard about a homeless shelter in his hometown that was robbed. Apparently, the thieves stole 300 turkeys that were supposed to be served to the needy. Upon hearing of this, James-Michael immediately helped out and replaced all the turkeys.
As an NFL rookie, James-Michael only makes $496,000. While that is a lot of money, for him to replace all those turkeys probably cost him close to $7,000.
“I figured I am in a situation where I can help, where I can give back, so that is something I wanted to do,” Johnson said.
And that’s what it’s all about, right? God places us in certain positions and places so that we can be a blessing to others. Many of us have plenty to be thankful for this upcoming week, but let’s make sure to give people one more thing to be thankful for by helping them in any way we can.
Happy Sabbath!
