The NFL season kicked off this Thursday (Green Bay won 42-35 for those of you who didn't get to stay up for it). So in the spirit of football, I thought it'd be cool to have a football article. I searched around for a good one, and it took forever, but I finally caught the hail mary.
Sports writer Matt Maiocco wrote an article about the importance of NFL Draft picks. First of all, the Draft has 7 rounds! 7! That's 6 more than I care to watch. Obviously, some coaches and general managers (GMs) feel the same way I do. They treat their picks with disdain, meaning they don't really care about them. Well Maiocco conducted a 5-year study about the teams that draft well versus the teams that don't.
Guess who the top 3 teams were?
1. Green Bay Packers
2. New Orleans Saints
3. Indianapolis Colts
Wanna know the worst 3?
1. Buffalo Bills
2. Washington Redskins
3. Cincinnati Bengals
It's no coincidence. The teams that draft well win more games. The teams that don't draft well…well…you get the idea. I think drafting in the NFL is a lot like making choices in real life. Those who make the better choices in life often end having better lives. Duh!
So don't be like the bad teams, make the right decisions and your life will be soooooooo much better.
