The Lost Bible

Chapter 1

I woke up and the first thing I saw was my alarm clock ringing so loud that I heard my brother banging on the wall and telling me to shut it off. I quietly prayed for today and got out of bed and prepared myself for breakfast. As I entered the kitchen, food was already on the table.

“Good morning Lisa!” My mother told me.

“Hey! Guess what! My brother yelled at me for my alarm clock!” I answered.

“Okay now calm down! It’s time to go to church anyway!” said my brother as he entered the room. I walked to my room peacefully as my brother carefully sneaked to follow me.

“Hey! What are you up to?” I asked him.

“Nothing what are you doing?” he answered.

“I’m going to my room to read my bible!”

“Okay! Okay!” My brother said. “Go get ready for church.” He added.

“I will, don’t worry.” I said as I entered my room.

Chapter 2

“It only took 10 minutes to get ready for church after all! What was he up to? I wondered. My mom opened the car and we got in. When my mom started driving, that’s when it hit me: I forgot my Bible! My class ran out of Bibles and told us to bring our own!

Oh no! I thought. What if I don’t understand the Bible verses? My mother was so proud when she heard that I was learning about the bible!

As I was getting overwhelmed, I quickly started to pray in my head. “Dear God, Please help me understand the verses without the Bible! I am sorry for not bringing it! Amen”

Chapter 3

I got out of the car, entered the class and sat down as the teacher spoke.

“Well hello everyone! The first thing we are going to do today is study the Bible! I hope you brought your Bibles!” she exclaimed. When people asked me how I was, I shuddered nervously.

The teacher started to read from the Bible and that was when a girl in my class said:”Hey, do you need a Bible? I got a spare!”

I was so happy that I gladly said yes right away. A few minutes passed and the class ended. I was very embarrassed that I didn’t bring the Bible but I knew that everything will be okay if you are in God’s side.

      • Cool! Well, I got matched with you, and we can be buddies if you don’t mind.
“The partners work with current or past stories that they each posted on Guide, and swap stories to edit them. Some things writing buddies can work on are:
        – Adding descriptions
        – Building on characters’ backstories
        – Shortening or lengthening sections
        – Changing wording
        – Adding character thoughts.

Then the writing buddy would post their updated version of their partner’s story on Guide, with a description of what they edited and why.

        What do you think?
