Chapter 6
My ankle is all red and getting swollen… I’m having a hard time breathing… “Help!! Harper!!” Kaylee yelled.
Meanwhile…
Harper was carefully navigating herself through the woods. “Lara!” Harper called. She noticed some movement behind a thick tree and carefully made her way there. She slowly crept up on Lara, then grabbed her by the shoulders.
“Aah!” Lara yelled as she twirled around. The two girls started laughing. “Did you find Kaylee yet?” Lara asked.
“No, not yet. But you can help me now.” Harper replied. Harper and Lara spread out looking through the woods.
“Come out, come out wherever you are!” Lara yelled as she stepped over logs.

“Kaylee!” Kaylee heard Harper calling her name from afar.
That sounds like Lara! Kaylee thought hopefully. “Lar”-Cough-“Help me.”-Cough. Kaylee struggled to even whisper. She was wheezing badly and needed her inhaler.

Lara and Harper got back together again. “Let’s check by the tree,” suggested Harper. As they walked to the tree, Harper stopped.
“Harper,” Lara said as she picked something up. “Look! It’s an inhaler.”
Harper examined it, then turned pale. “It’s Kaylee’s inhaler!” Lara looked confused. “She has asthma. Now I’m worried! She could need it and she doesn’t have it with her!” Harper exclaimed.
“This is bad!” Lara said as Harper chewed fingernails worriedly.
“Kaylee!!” Harper yelled.
“Harper,” Lara said as she put her hands on Harper’s shoulders. “You need to calm down, or you won’t be able to think! You know what we need to do, right?” Harper nodded.
“Dear God, we don’t know where Kaylee is right now, and we are really worried about her. Please help us find her, amen.” Lara prayed.

I need my inhaler now! Kaylee thought as she sobbed. No! Pull yourself together Kaylee. You need to pray.’ She thought as she wiped her tears. Dear God, I need help! Right now! My ankle is throbbing, and I can hardly breathe. Please help my friends to find me. Amen. Kaylee tried to take a deep breath, then yelled. “Help me!!”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Lara, stop!” Harper said. “Did you hear that?? It sounds like Kaylee! From over there!” The girls ran toward the bush that Kaylee was at.
“Kaylee!” Lara exclaimed. Kaylee grabbed her hand. Lara thrust the inhaler in Kaylee’s hand. Kaylee took four big puffs from it while Harper examined her ankle.
“What happened to your ankle?” Harper asked.
“I slipped and sprained it.” Kaylee replied when she was finally able to talk. Together, Harper and Lara helped Kaylee walk back to their tent. When they arrived, Lara helped Kaylee into the tent, while Harper went and got her parents. Soon, Kaylee was laying in her cot, with a pack of ice on her foot. But instead of being bored, she was happy listening to stories that Harper and Lara were telling her. ‘ love my friends.. Kaylee thought.
