Cedertown, Chapter 2

Uh, hey Ruby?,” asked Mia, wanna come sit with us?”

“No!,” came the choppy, harsh reply.

“Oh well,” sighed Emma. “At least we tried.” The next day Ruby jammed paper in Mia’s locker so she was late for school. She also locked the door to the math classroom so Emma and Rachel couldn’t get in. She poured milk in Riley’s lunchbag. She tripped Ella. The girls sure wanted to get revenge but they quietly said nothing and smiled.

The next Monday, Ruby wasn’t at school.

The girls found out that she had to be rushed to the hospital. She had horrible fever and and was really, really sick.

The girls knew what they had to do. When she was able to go home, they decided to meet the next day at the corner on Main Street.

Mia’s mom baked her famous scrumptious apple pie, and a dozen oatmeal raisin cookies for Ruby. Ella made a kind card, saying she hoped Ruby felt better, and that she was glad that she was out of the hospital.

The girls made their way to Ruby’s house and put it on her doorstep.

Next Monday|

Ruby was well recovered and back to school. At lunch the girls were sitting together when they looked up to see Ruby standing there with a big smile on her face. “Hey,” beamed Ruby. She looked at them happily. There was no cross expression on her face.

“Girls, thank you so much,” she started. “I was so happy when I saw those things on my doorstep, cuz I’ve been so mean and rude, and you just helped me when I was sick!” “Do you mind if I sit here?”

Mia was surprised as she gasped,”Oh, Ruby, yes of course you can sit here!”, as the other girls looked on with great joy.

The girls afterwards spent a lot of time together. They became the best of friends.

Proverbs 25

21. If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink:

22. For thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head, and the LORD shall reward thee.

  1. Nice story! I’m glad Mia and Emma were kind to ruby, even though he was rude to them. Also, I like how you even have a Bible verse for this story. Nice job!
