Early the next morning…….

The sun shined brightly over the hilltops as the girls woke up. They could smell their mother’s breakfast of toast, jam, potatoes, and her famous breakfast rolls. The girls smiled at the delicious aromas that came from the kitchen.

Eagerly they got dressed and combed their hair. Then they raced down to eat. Their mother smiled at them as she motioned for them to sit down and eat.

After breakfast, they were off to school. As they walked they could see that the dew was still on the little wildflowers that lined the path. They waved to other classmates who also were starting up to the school. Ella laughed to her herself.

Mia put on a half smiling, half frowning face as she asked with a smirk,” What on earth is so funny?”

“Nothing really,” answered merry Ella.

As they arrived at school, their teacher, Mrs. Baily made an announcement. “Class, we have two new students, Ruby, and her brother Benjamin.” Their faces had an evil smirk on them which made the class a little uneasy.

Nevertheless Mrs. Baily’s class was very kind and thoughtful, and so at recces Mia, Ella, and three other girls, Riley, Emma, and Rachel, invited Ruby to play, while the boys asked Benjamin to come and play soccer. But Ruby’s first words made Mia’s mouth drop…….
