Unexpectedly, professional tennis player Naomi Osaka withdrew from the Sydney International tournament. But why?
Naomi received a lot of attention when she beat Serena Williams in the US Open last year. As she prepares for her first big tournament (the Australian Open), she gets ready by doing smaller tournaments like the Sydney International. Unfortunately, she was a little off of her game, and was visibly frustrated by her performance. Naomi ended up losing to an unranked player and has this to say after the game:
“If I’m being really frank, I just feel like I had like the worst attitude today.”
So much of how we live everyday is based on our attitude. If we look at things in a negative viewpoint, most likely, things will be negative. But if we try to look at things with a positive attitude, it makes a positive difference.
In Psalm 119:87-88, the Bible tells us that as long as we have God’s love, we will keep His words in our mouths. Perspective is everything. As we begin a new year, try to make sure you keep a positive outlook on life. Read the words below for a good reminder on perspective:
Today was the absolute worst day ever
And don’t try to convince me that
There’s something good in every day
Because, when you take a closer look,
This world is a pretty evil place.
Even if
Some goodness does shine through once in a while
Satisfaction and happiness don’t last.
And it’s not true that
It’s all in the mind and heart
Because
True happiness can be attained
Only if one’s surroundings are good
It’s not true that good exists
I’m sure you can agree that
The reality
Creates
My attitude
It’s all beyond my control
And you’ll never in a million years hear me say
Today was a very good day
Now read it from bottom to top – perception really is everything!
