Drew Brees breaks an all-time record.
Last Monday night, New Orleans Saints quarterback, Drew Brees broke Peyton Manning’s career passing yards record. He did so in a primetime game against the Washington Redskins in a 43-19 victory.
Drew came into the game in third place, behind both Peyton’s 71,940 and Brett Favre’s 71,838. He leaped Brett with a 1-yard touchdown pass early in the game. Then surpassed Peyton’s total with a 62-yard catch-and-run touchdown by Tre-Quan Smith.
The ball from the touchdown pass was immediately handed to a representative of the Pro Football Hall of Fame where it will be for years to come. Future fans will remember the name of Drew Brees.
God keeps a book of remembrance written before Him of those that fear the Lord, and that call upon His name. Malachi 3:16-17 reads Then those who fear the Lord talked with each other, and the Lord listened and heard. A scroll of remembrance was written in his presence concerning those who feared the Lord and honored His name. “On the day when I act,” says the Lord Almighty, “they will be my treasured possession. I will spare them, just as a father has compassion and spares his son who serves him.”
Just as Drew is going down in the record books, God adds our names to His record book. Every time a sinner is baptized for the remission of his sins they go into God’s book. When we bring people closer to Christ; God puts us in his book. Think of ways to get everyone you know into God’s book.
