When DeMar DeRozan and Kevin Love let the world know about their mental health struggles earlier this year, they sparked a national conversation.
Mental health is far more prevalent than many realize. With one in four adults struggling with mental health each year, there’s no doubt that there are people in our churches who desperately need love and support.
People regularly approach the church because they need help in dealing with the symptoms of mental health—their own or someone else’s. Isaiah 41:10 reads “fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
We need to be ready to respond to people who need us, and this response starts with considering mental health from a Christian point of view. What steps can you take to help?
