Take a look at how the Spurs handled their loss this past Thursday.
What a thrilling 7-game series for the NBA! Game 6 was possibly one of the best games I’ve seen in my lifetime. It was a thrilling series that literally went back and forth with wins for each team. However, in the end there could only be one champion and one loser. Even with 2 minutes left to go in game 7, there was no definite winner.
Eventually, Miami held onto a lead and pulled out a win. Now usually in circumstances like this, the losing team immediately walks off the court. The Spurs, even after a huge, upsetting loss, stayed on the court to congratulate Miami on the win. In the glory of the moment, this may get lost in translation but do you know how hard it would be to genuinely smile and congratulate the person who just beat you in a game? And EVERYONE on the Spurs team did this. It’s simply a great testimony to who the Spurs are as an organization and what they represent.
I hope when people see us in losing moments that we can still muster up the strength that it takes to lose like a champion.
Happy Sabbath!
