I’ve been waiting to talk about this all week!
After the New York Knicks lost Game 2 to the Miami Heat, Amare Stoudemire was very frustrated. In fact, he got so angry that he punched his hand through the glass case of a fire extinguisher. While this may have seemed like a very macho/cool thing to do, Stoudemire ended up with severe lacerations (cuts) to that hand and wasn’t going to be able to play in the next game or possibly the rest of the season.
Now, I know we all have our moments when we do silly things, but this was absolutely moronic. Not only did Stoudemire hurt himself, but he also hurt his teammates by not being available to play. I think this is a good lesson for those of you who may have temper problems or get too competitive when it comes to sports. When you get angry, it doesn’t only effect you, it affects others as well.
Unfortunately for Stoudemire, he’s learning this lesson at age 29, smh. Even if he HAS learned his lesson, it looks like it may have cost him his season. What do you all think about this?
