|Goodbye and Hello|
|Written by Rachel Whitaker, Associate Editor|
Today is my last day at Guide, so I'm saying goodbye to all my Guide friends out there! (If you want to know why I'm leaving, read my previous post.) I'll miss you!
But it's also time to introduce you to the new Guide assistant editor . . . Laura Sámano. Laura was born in Mexico but has lived most of her life in the U.S. (Ella habla español como yo pero mucho mejor. She speaks Spanish like I do, but much better.) She graduated from La Sierra University in California and worked at the North American Division offices until recently. In the few weeks I've gotten to know Laura, I can tell that she loves God and is excited about helping Guide readers get to know Him better. Here we are working on an upcoming issue of Guide. (You'll still see me in the magazine for a few months because we make Guide issues so far in advance of when you receive them.)
If I could share one parting word of wisdom with Guide readers, it would be this: Living God's way really does make you happier, even if it doesn't always seem that way at first. The more I understand God's character, the more I want to be like Him, because I can see that it's the best way to be. So, if a lot of things about God don't seem to make sense right now, don't give up—keep learning about Him, do what He says (it helps you prove whether He knows what He's talking about!), and see if the pieces start to fall into place.
Oh, and remember, you're never too old to read Guide!
