Kathy Beagles Q & A
by Kim Peckham

Where were you born?

I was born in Portland, Oregon, but I never actually lived there outside the hospital.

Who was your favorite school teacher and why?

My first grade teacher. She was my aunt and I was sent to live with her. It was a great adventure. We lived in the same building as the church and the school, and it was by a lake.

Do you have any children?

I have one son and one grandson—and a daughter-in-law too, Praise the Lord!

What was your first job?

Taking care of my little sisters. But I didn’t get paid, so not sure it counts. But it was work.

Do you have a secret talent?

Probably, but I don’t even know what it is.

What is your favorite veggie food item?

Peanuts, and whatever you can make with them! But, I especially like them boiled.

Do you have any nicknames?

My sister calls me Woody because I used to have red hair, and so do red-headed woodpeckers

Wat’s your favorite Bible story?

Joseph, I think. Bad things kept happening, but he kept trusting God.

What food item to you look for at potluck?

Polish potatoes, but unless my friend Paul goes to that church I usually don’t find them

Can you plan an instrument?

I can play anything on a guitar, but only in the keys of C and G

What is your best sport?

Walking

Do you have any pets?

No. I decided that with the name of Beagles, my family would be enough.

What’s the most amazing thing God’s ever done for you?

Teach me how crazy He is about me, and how much He wants to hang out with me all the time.

What’s your favorite junk food item?

Kettle Corn or Rice Krispy treats (can’t decide)

What’s your favorite iPhone game or table game?

Apples to Apples, because you don’t have to think and strategize. There’s enough of that going on when you are not playing games!

Where is your favorite place you’ve ever visited?

Old San Juan, Puerto Rico

When you were a teen, what did you want to be when you grew up?

A writer

What’s the best piece of advice your mom has ever given you?

The majority isn’t always right.

Summer, spring, fall, or winter?

I prefer one of each.

What’s the best book you’ve ever read?

The book of Ephesians

Which came first, the chicken or the egg?

I believe God created chickens first, but with the eggs inside them

What’s something most people don’t know about you?

That I would still like to skydive.

What’s the biggest disappointment you’ve ever had?

Most of them eventually turned into the biggest blessing once God was through weaving them into my life.
